Creating games with VB.Net, the basics | (Post #1)

Welcome to all of my blog visitors, especially the VB Purists out there, that came to learn the true power of VISUAL BASIC when it comes to creating games!

By VB purists I mean all the people who still code in any form of basic, (VB6 Hardcore purists, I'm sorry that this will be in .NET, I did make the change to it some years back. It was time.) At some point in this blog I hope to convert the code unto C# and Java, although I don't like C# cause of the class system. (I hate the class system, I'll barely use classes, just structures mostly).

Jokes aside, I created this blog as a tribute for VB.NET since I've been using Visual Basic for 20 years for my game making failing attempts. (I don't think I've finished a full game since I started my coding journey, maybe I'll manage to with this blog)

I hope these tutorials will be useful to someone, since VB stopped being a popular language and the documentation, (on game making at least) is minimum or non-existent. Post your comments, your questions, if I can help in some way I'll be happy to.

I will be posting tutorials on game logic and code structure techniques, both for 2d and 3d games.

And a quick reminder before someone starts saying why do you use deprecated methods? or why VB? I'm just a hobbyist! I've been coding for the fun of it. (Rendering for the most part will be done using OpenGL, I'm not a master by any means of openGL or VB for that matter, I've just coded a lot through the years.)

On the side, while coding games, I'll draw resources for them, mostly pixel art, and maybe use blender for creating some basic models when working on 3d games.

Hope you enjoy!

And don't forget feel free to post a comment, or ask a question.
